I know it’s fun when people post all the fake Cordova, but I wouldn’t mess around with off-brand ski fashion. It can get really cold really fast on a mountain. With the wrong gear, best case scenario is you’re stuck alone at the lodge all day.
The good news is there is high quality, flattering stuff that you can trust for not-that-much. You can dress yourself with one of everything on this list for $440 (not including the goggles, you don’t need goggles until you can really ski).
You’re going to rent your helmet, boots, and skis, so don’t worry about that. Just try to make sure your jacket, pants, gloves, and socks are good quality. The right jacket eliminates the need for lots of bulky or expensive base layers—there’s a jacket here for $210, but I include it because it’s three jackets in one.
These solutions are from well-known brands and come in lots of on-trend colors, (many with inclusive sizing). I promise you’ll look at home on the slopes. And remember, real skiers’ outfits accumulate over time, you don’t necessarily want to do the matchy-matchy thing. Save it for après.
